Horsehair on Jute Base Horsehair filler for upholstery and mattress production
More info
This material is highly resistant to decay and is considered one of the most durable natural fillers used in mattress manufacturing. Horsehair forms a firm support layer in mattresses. Fibres sourced from horse manes and tails are mechanically needled onto a jute fabric base.
The material is treated with natural latex, which significantly increases its lifespan, strength and elasticity. Due to the unique structure of the horsehair layer, a natural air channel is created within the mattress, helping to retain warmth and maintain an optimal sleeping climate.
100% natural horsehair has virtually no odor of its own and has noticeable therapeutic, hypoallergenic and natural antibacterial, antifungal and anti-mite properties. Its therapeutic effects are especially beneficial for rheumatism and spinal conditions. Horsehair helps regulate moisture and enhances sleeping comfort.
Horsehair products are very warm, they do not wear out, they repel water, they do not rot and these products can serve you for years. This material has a microscopic capillary action that wicks away moisture and allows air to pass through. It's so effective that if you wet your horsehair with water and shake it, it dries almost instantly.
The horsehair materials we use are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, ensuring that they are safe for use even with children.
