This is a single-ply yarn made from 100% pure multicolored burette tussah silk, produced using the traditional Shantung technique and marketed under the Shantung Jaspe label by Filati Buratti.

Shantung silk is known for its distinctive appearance, reminiscent of bamboo joints, with natural irregularities and a textured surface.

The yarn is carefully processed and spun using the Jaspe technique, which creates a beautiful structural composition and rich color variation. During spinning, fine multicolored Shantung silk fibers are incorporated around a strong core, enhancing both texture and visual depth.

Despite its fineness, the yarn is remarkably strong and durable.

It is ideal for weaving (10–12 threads per cm) and, thanks to its strength, can be confidently used for both warp and weft.

This yarn also produces stunning visual effects in machine knitting, hand knitting, crochet, lace-making, and embroidery.
